4-12
Selection Spinning Machines
- Limited locations that will accept this type of
machine
- You can't see half the product in these vending
machines-half the product is against the wall
- Due to substantial weight on the top - makes the
machine "Top Heavy"
- Very hard to service-you must take off all
canisters and put your hand down inside bottom of
machine
- Plastic coin mechanisms jam up and frequently
break down
- Most of these machines have short-term, limited
warranties
|
 |
Snack/Soda
or Entertainment Machines
- Very costly for one location
- Your product cost is normally about 50% or more
- Location will want another 30%-40% of
profits-you have about a 10%-15% profit
- These are electrical machines-you must plug into
the location's electricity
- Locations often require a lease fee of $250-$350
per month
- Very labor intensive- requires truck, van and
dolly to transport product

Honor
Boxes
- You better re-name these "Dis-Honor
Boxes" - too many people don't pay
- These are small card board boxes that sit on
counters with candy in them
- In my 22 years of doing vending, I have never
spoken with anyone who has made money with these
- In the summer, the chocolate melts under the
wrappers-very messy
|
 |
Medical
Boxes That Go On Walls
- These normally hold bandages, aspirin, Rolaids,
etc.
- Candy is an impulse buy - this kind of vending
is a "necessity buy"
- Most people today keep their own aspirin,
Rolaids, etc. in their desks or purses
- I have never spoken with anyone who is making
money with these
|
 |
Boxy
Looking Candy Bar Machines
- These vending machines are mostly square in
shape and there is a lever at the bottom that you
slide to your choice
- Most of these vending machines are way
over-priced for their quality
- During the summer months, the chocolate melts
under the wrappers
- The candy bars are the miniatures, so most
people feel ripped off for the price they paid
|
 |
Coin
Shooters (Coin Shooting Machines)
- Considered gambling in some states and counties
- Machines sit on tables-awkward to service
- Can only service when customers are not there
- Most people shoot pennies - not quarters
- Difficult to locate - complaints of being too
noisy
- Small plastic vending machines - easily stolen
